When paintint a room that is cream color what paint is best to use?

I am painting my living room a dark color. I was wanting to know if any one knows of a very good paint that would cover in only one coat. Is it best to use a red base or brown base?

Thanks...When paintint a room that is cream color what paint is best to use?
Whatever you do don't scrimp on the paint. By a good quality product. I've always found it best to put on 2 coats and I've never used a primer!!!When paintint a room that is cream color what paint is best to use?
well. the best covering paint they make comes from the factory...the pigment is ground at the factory and then mixed in with the vehicle...the dark colors from a paint chip that are made at the paint stores are liquid colorants added to the vehicle and do not provide much coverage....so the thing to do is to pick your colors from a color chart of factory made paints...go to a professional paint store, they will know what i am talking about...the only problem you will find is that you won't have a large selection of colors to choose from, only basic colors, but if it something you like go for it. if not, sorry but you will have to give the walls two or there coats to achieve coverage.

there is another way and that way is to mix ground colors from the factory together to come up with a color that is close to what you want...but that take a knowledge of colors...what colors when mixed together will make what color.
If your paint require a primer, think again, are you sure you want this color.

I used 7 gal. to paint a room about 120 sq ft.

one gal of primer and six gal of the deep red paint.
