Thanks,I was wondering what color to paint my living room? the focal point in the living room is the brick fireplace,
I'm in the process of painting my livingroom. We also have a brick fireplace that is the focal point. I'm using Ralph Lauren paint #VM23 Chocolate Brown (from Home Depot). This is the first time I've used this brand and the color is great. Sounds like a dark color but it actually looks like a light-medium brown suede. Love it!I was wondering what color to paint my living room? the focal point in the living room is the brick fireplace,
how do you want the room to feel? warm and cozy or light and airy? red tones, gray tones, soft whites. here are some sites that may help you out more. just think about how you want the room to feel and use accents and accessories for color too.have fun with it.
A dark almost mustard, vintage yellow would look trendy, with some red accents to pick up on the [reddish?] brick?
Find an object or rug or pillow of piece of furniture that is colorful and that you plan to display in the room. Use this as your inspiration piece and tie all other colors into it. For example if you have a vase that has several colors, pick one for the walls. If you can't find a common thread color see if there is a shade of green that you like, such as sage. Greens will compliment most other colors.
dark violet...and tan trim....tan willbring out the bricks...or even grey!!!!!!
Pebblestone from Lowe's. I just painted my bathroom that color with a bright white trim and it is really sharp and nuetral
Plaid baby, plaid.
make it warm, cosy and inviting by painting it terracotta, your furniture will go nicley with it
Try a light sage color.

Its a great color and goes really well with brick work. Also try hardwoods, like an oak wainscoting or something. It will give it a really finished and warm feel.

Do you have a mantle on the fireplace? If it is a wood mantle, try matching up your woods for any accent pieces. Depending on what the style of the room is there are numerous different accent pieces you can add. Like crown molding, and chair molding, you can accent by changing the wood on your door frames also.

You could also try a light tan color. Its just a thought.
You can start by painting with a warm cream shade which will go with the deep red of the bricks and the grey and black couch. Your accents should be silver, crystal and deep red and forest green. To add some depth in the paint how about doing wide stripes in two contrasting shades of cream. A really nice warm oriental rug in shades of crimson, green and cream would also go well.
Red and cream
I don't know how helpful this will be, but don't do anything boring. People are so afraid of color when it comes to wall paint. Go bold!

(I think red, real red)
i think with the brick fire place any warm earthy tones would be good. (variations of red, orange, grey, brown). i wouldn't go with anything TOO brown because of the black couch.
