What would be a calm, peaceful color to paint my walls?

Im going to be a senior at high school and of course, a freshman in college after.


i want to have my room painted a color that is peaceful and relaxing.

There are so many color choices. For calming, avoid warm colors (reds, pinks, yellow, orange) and lean towards cool colors (blues, greens, purples) or total neutrals like taupe, cool grays, etc.


One thing you may want to consider is taking whatever color is dominate in your bedding and have it color matched and lighted two to three shades for the walls. White is cool because believe it or not, it contains blue, and will cool off any warm color. When a color is lightened, a couple of shades the white/blue is added (or rather left in the paint base) and helps negate it's warmth. You can also ask the paint store to use a ';cool tint'; base when mixing your color. In addition to paint you should also think about getting rid of any excess clutter or decoration in your room that is busy with patterns. If you minimize the things that are trying to grab visual attention, then you will have a more calm feeling to the room. Keeping in mind things that are more horizontal in design will keep the calm feeling going. Avoid sharp angles and curves as these add visual activity and won't reinforce the feeling of calm.

light yellow, not a pastel bathroom yellow, or a to bright yellow, but idk a nice yellow, beige, grey and decorate with brighter colors to contrast, like red curtains ect, ocean blue, light green, My suggestion would be to go to home deopot and get paint samples and find a color you find peaceful because we all have different preferances.
I'd say either white, light yellow, or light blue.


Keep in mind the lighting in the room will effect the color, as well as things like bookshelves and desks blocking the wall.
A minty greenish color,

A redish, orangish color.

and make sure to buy lots of candles to get that relaxed feeling..





my room is minty green :)
a soft pink, a soft peach, anything soft is peaceful to me. even a soft violet is pretty.
I hink blues are a relaxing color....But whats your preference? A nice tan or brown , then you can coordinate a lot of colors..
Anything pascel works. Light colors though; anything dark brings personal moral down.
