What is so special about the colors green and blue when coloring or painting landscapes?

When I am colouring landscapes for some reason they are the two most used colours.What is so special about the colors green and blue when coloring or painting landscapes?
It's what we were taught while in grade school!

The Sky and water are Blue the grass and leaves in the trees are Green the sun is Yellow, etc. etc. etc. It just simplifies the painting process for those who'd rather not get that technical or who really aren't that into painting,coloring their work as the world; in reality, actually is. Modern Art so to speak...actually quite primitive/juvenille in it's execution :)

All of the areas in nature are actually a combination of various colors and values of those colors.Not just one particular color.

Take a good close look at a tree for example...no, I mean really look at it!

What COLORS do you see? Textures and shadows too right? OF course!

Ya wanna make your artwork come alive???

Paint what you see...not what you think you see, or what you are led to believe you are seeing (by society). Even if you see a tree trunk for example as Brown, there are so many variations of Brown within that tree trunk.

I think you get my drift by now.

In any case and no matter what or how you see and paint/draw or whatever art form you pursue...have fun with it, but for crying out loud don't let the world dictate how you should represent things...be original and you will be successful!

As long as you are happy with what you have created ...you have triumphed :)What is so special about the colors green and blue when coloring or painting landscapes?
Perhaps it is because they are such natural choices for painting lanndscapes...the sky/sea/water often being an array of blues and greens being the colors of summer foliage/plants.

As analogous colors, they work so well together.

Of course, you may just have a preference for cool colors...
because they are pretty common in landscpaes

sky=blue

trees=green,

most seen stuff in a landscape

=D
Well, you never know. It might have something to do w/ the sky and the seas,
